eer is likely that the California mine,
‘. which is situated four miles from
and seven miles from
Washington, will soon pass to the
a of an eastern company. The
present owners are Col. Tozer, Chas.
D. Lane and others. They bonded the
property some time ago to a New York
syndicate represented by Dana Harmon, the reported price being $50,000.
The bond was to have expired on the
10th instant, but an extension to the
1st of April has been obtained.
Under the superintendency of Mr.
. Harmon there has been somewhat like
$100,000 expended in opening up the
property, and the operations have been
attended with the best of results. A
magnificent mine has been developed.
The ore deposit is very large and of
good quality. It is expected that in
the Spring thirty more stamps will be
added to the ten now in use. «+
Mr. Thomas, who is interested in the
sale, is expected here tonight from San
Francisco and tomorrow he will go up
to make a careful inspection of the
mine.
