The following is a epecial correspendence to the Amador Record from Sacranento : The Sacramentan wh» is not.a member of some committee these days isaltogethey lost, and of course, his social and business status is nil. What with the Midwinter Fair coupon fight, the securing of the Re-~ publican and Democratic conventions for Sacramento, and other matters looked upon by the natives as of equal importance, the town is enjoying ‘‘a boom” of .some magnitude. In fact, if there is anything in reach that Sacramento doesn’t want your correspondent has failed so far to find it, It-looks as though Jake Neff may fail to reach the Governorship, as Sacramento politicians would prefer to see the nomination (go toSan Franeisco or the southern half ot the State, as that would leave a better chance for aspirants here te corral a goodly share of the State offices. Senator E. C. Voorheis is talked of a good deal as a probable nominee for LieutenantGovernor, but this would, of course, be im. possible was Neff to_secure_the nomination for Goverpor, as it would hardly be good politics to give two such important offices t6 the northern half Of the State. Frank D. ‘Ryan will! undoubtedly, make a. formidable fight for the Congressional nomination in the,Second district. He is a strong man, very popular-here; A. J. Johnston, the present State Printer, 6 hefore the Republican convention for ON somiation for that position. Mr, Johnston is a Native Son, having been born in Nevada county, near Grass Valley. Frank Rhodes is generally found around the old corner, but says that he has gone out of business, quit politics and joined the church, During the attempt to interview . him on the coming political situation he confidingly winked his left eye and smiled a smile of sadness. Very kind. The Transcriet desires to express its thanks to the triends who have brought and sent coupens to this office, to_ be. voted for Nevada county’s mineral exhibit. We have received some from Los Angeles, San Frapcisco, Sacramento, Bear Valley, Emigrant Gap, North Bloomfield, Virginia City, French Corral, North San Juen, Washington, and a number of other places.
