An Ordinance Regulating Health in the
City of Nevada.
VHE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
City of Nevada do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That in place of establishing
a Board of Health by Ordinance, as provided
by section 3061 of Article V of the Politica!
Code of the State of California, the health
regulations for the City of Nevada she!l be
under the control and management of a
Health Officer, who shall be appointed by
the Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada
to hold said office at the pleasure of said
Board, and for such salary or compensation
as the Board of Trustees shall adopt from
time to time. :
Section 2. The Health Officer of the City .
of Nevada shall have a general supervision ‘
of all the mat: ers appertaining to the sanitary condition of the city, and make such
rules and regulations in relation thereto as
are not inconsistent with law, and whenever
necessary shall have the power to perform
any of the duties required l-y Article III and
IV of the Political Code of the State of California regulating health.
Section 3. The Health Officer may locate
and establish pest houses and cause to be
removed thereto, and kept, any person having a contageous or infectious disease. Ma
continue or remove the same, and make sua?
‘ules and regulations in regard to conducting the same as are needful.
Sec, 4. Any person or persons failing,or refusing to comply with,or to perform any rule
or.order lawfully made by tie Health Officer
concerning the sanitary condition of the
city, of which rule or order such person or
persons shall have, had due notice, shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not
less than ten, nor more\ than one hundred
dollars, or be imprisoned\in the city prison
not exceeding ten days,'or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
This Ordirance shall take effect from and
after its passage and publication.
