Miss Sallie McBride, who bas been ill at ber home at Nor:h San Juan, is improivng. The young baby of James Lane of Piety Hill is quite sick. Joe Taafe, millman at the Murchie mine, went to Sacramento yesterday. A. W. Kelley, clerk of the Hotel Gillen, was here last night from Oolfax. Rev. Rodda, who hae been here on a visit, left yesterday for his home at Watsonville. Mrs. Edith Montrose, who has been ‘here vieiting her mother, Mrs. Lawrepoe, left this morning for San Francisco. From there she will go to Portland, Oregon, and then proceed to Boise, Idaho, to join Fisber’s theatrical company. $32,000 For It. New Yor, March 25th—The sum of $82,000 has been paid at an auction bere for a French snuffbox dated 17658. This is the greatest sum ever paid at auction for such an art object. It is expected the box eventually will find ite way tothe United States through the firm which effected the purchase. The box, which is the work of Hainelin, is oblong, with panele on the sides top and base of enamel painted with bougets of flowers. As a whole this attraction gave eminent satisfaction to all who attended the performance.
