CONDENSED. TELEGRAMS. — Conkling’s funeral will be held in Utica today. : Ason of A. 8. Hendricks of Oroville was fatally burned. James Soloman was killed by a blast in Butte City mine. . The village of Fremont, Wis., is almost entirely under water. Mrs. Eliza Nixon of Wichita, Kans., -was daringly adbucted by two men. Andrew M. Anderson fatally shot Chester Draper at Charleston Utah. Regulators in Pike county, Miss., ! are committing outrages on negroes. The co-operation mill at Spanish Forks, Utah, was burned. Loss, $15,: 000. Two girls 13 years old have been arrested in New York for highway robbery. Thomas Hance, the oldest voter in New York State, died Wednesday, aged 107. George E. Weller, a wealthy merchant of Stockton, died suddenly of apoplexy. : ‘Two men and a woman were brutally lashed by ‘‘White Caps’’ near Albany, Ind. -. The late Samuel J. Tilden’s rare wines are to be sold svon. Some of the wineis worth $12 per bottle. Thestock of the Oregon Real Estate Association, belonging to the Holladays, will be sold to satisfy creditors. The sixth annual encampment of the f Grand Army of the Republic of Washington Territory and Alaska is in progress at Seattle. : At Trempelean, Wis., while five In. dians were endeavoring to drag a canoe across a raft of logs, the logs parted and all were drowned. Three thousand and eight hundred South-American Indians were recently killed by means of strychnine administered by a Brazilian outlaw. Acouple of Japanese are in Napa county for the purpose of buying horses, cattle and other live stock to Alp / improve the breed of stock in Japan. The Placerville Democrat of April 14th says: ‘Just as we go to press we learn that yesterday the body of Hon. John Yule, who had been migsing from the Church—Mine since March 27th, was found on Mathenas Creek, near the mine. No particulars, except that the body had been strippod of lothing and that death rasultfrom a gun-shot wound.” Tue Marysville Democrat says :— The Colusa Sun, speaking of crop prospects, says they are anything but flattering. From Suisun clear up the poor sprouts are showing. Colusa county will fare as well, perhaps, as any, but a full crop is now impossible. Some of the best summer-fallows will make a full crop without more rain, if we only have continued cold south winds. Many fields look like they were past relief, and if cold winds do not come inthe next ten days it will only be only the best summer-fallow that will remain anything like good.
