Kidder. is building .an addition to the north side of his house for the use of his daughter, Beatrice. The interior wood work is to be of the choicest birdseye maple and all of the appointments will be of the best. Cerf Rosenthal, superintendent of the Pine Hill, has gone to San Francisco te attend to some: ‘business relative to the mill now being constructed onthe mine. He says there is lots of good ore in sight and that the future success of the mine is:assured, ‘ Neil Clauson was found guilty last night of using vulgar language and was recommended to the court’s mercy. During the progress of the trial one of the jurors got up, walked out unnoticed and failed altogether to come back: Aftera long time somebody missed with the remaining jurors. The Narrow Gauge Railroad is about to build four or five excursion cars to take the place of the canvass-covered flat cars heretofore used on the road. There will be a thirty-six foot row of double seats on each side of the aisle: ‘The cars will be generally speaking of the style of the observation car now. Ahe sides. will be of glass. It costs some $500 apiece more to: build these cars here than to import them, but the management takes into consideration’ the fact that the money expended for labor will have local distribution. Grass Valley is likely to have a firstclass new theatre. and béll-room “this the next two monthsof a structure the main portion of which will have a frontage of fifty feet anda depth ,of one hundred and fifty. It will have a sted] frame with granite walls and brick front, and be modernin .every respect. On the ground floor will be a dance hall eighty feet long with’ convenient dressing and refreshment rooms.
