BN. Savage, the Old Watchman, Died at the Hospital Yesterday. E. N. Savage, who was found in a destitute condition in his cabin, on the Grass Valley road, a few weeks ago, died at the County Hospital at five o’clock yesterday ufternoon. He was an old resident of this township, and for the past twenty years or more he lived alone in a cabin near the works of the Live Yankee Mining Company’s quartz mine, being employed there as watchman, When found he wasa very sick man, and his friends had him taken to the Hospital. For. awhile, under good treatment, he improved but a few days ago he commenced failing very rapidly, and died yesterday atternoon. He was 75 years. of age.
