The horticultural and agricultural section of the county comprises about. 250,000 acres of land, a large per centage of which is adapted to cultivation. The topograpy of the county is such as to give variety to the pro ducts. We grow successfully in Nevada county: Oranges, lemons, citrons, figss, olives, apricots, plums, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, hazel nuts, black walauts, every kind of vegetable grown. Nevada City is the county seat of Nevada eounty. An ordifiancé regulating the vending of goods on the streets, games, amusements and other things for which a charge is made. ; The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada do ordain as follows: . SECTION I. It shall be unlawful forany person to sell or vend any goods, wares or merc 1andise upon the public streets of the City of Nevada, or to set up or use for gain any merry-go-round, strikingmachine, phonograph, game or other thing nsed for amusement, pleasure’or other purpore for which a charge is made within the corporate limits of said city without first procuring a license therefor, as hereinafter required, Section II. All persons before engaging in any such business, amusements or things spoken of in Section 1 hereof, snall pay tothe City for a license therefor in advance the following sums of money, towit: For merry-go-rounds, ten dollars per day; for vendors of goods, wares or merchandise on the public streets, five doiiars per day or fifteen dollars per week; for striking-machines five dollars per week or fifteen dollars per month; and for all other things of amusement spoken ofin Section 1 hereof, two dollars per day or ten dollars per week. ; SECTION IIL Any pérson eoprning in any of said businesses, or doing and of the things herein spoken of without first procuring the license therefor as herein requfred, is hereby declared to be gui'ty of a misdemeanor, and upyn conviction’ thereof, shall be fined in asum not less than ten dollars nor more than one hundred doHars, or shall be imprisoned in the city prison for aterm not exceeding ten days.
