Pacific headquarters in this city no
farther details of the railroad wreck
near Emigrant Gap have been received
than those contained in the Associated
Press advices. It was stated that the
train was delayed two hours in consequence of the accident, and that it
was due at Ogden about 2:35 this afternoon. Whitelaw Reid, one of D. O,
Mille’ party, is not so badly cnt as first
reported, his wounds, according to
Southern Pacific advices, being merely
superficial, The members of the Mills
party were badly shaken up, however.

Arxaneas Crty, Kan , May 1—Robert
A. Maxey, manager of the Pond Lumber Company, committed suicide here
yesterday by shooting himself throogh
the head. His term as City Treasurer
expired yesterday, and he was short in
his accounts. He worked all Monday
night on his books, getting them posted
up to date. The amount of the shortage is $8646 87. He left a note to a
bondsman, saying that his blunders
had cost him his life.
