COUNTT LOT BOUGHT! By Judge Nilon Today; For the.Nevada Gity . . Library Trastees. At 12 o’clock’ noon today Obeirman O. J, .Miiler of the Board of Supervieore put up at public auction the county lot, facing on Pine street, and opposite the Courthouse. The ‘tot was pure chesed by Judge F. T. Nilon, on bebalf of the Board of Truetees of the Nevada City Public Library, for $500. A deposit of $50, ten per cent of the puarchase price, was made with Chairman Miller of the Board of Supervisors. The location of -the lot is specially adapted for the parpose for which it is intended, being in a quiet and orderly locality, and near the business center of town. On this lot will be erected the Carnegie Library Building, the money for the buildiog of which was donated by Andrew Oarnegie, the steel megnate and pbilanthropiet, It will be an imposing structure and an ornament to the city. The future generations will point to it with pride as an evidence of the generosity of a selfmade American citizen, Meciing of Supervisors.
