Thers are better times ahead for Grass Valley. The Union is assured on the most reliable information that within the next four months three hundred men will be at work on Massachusetts Hill, on the group of claims recently purchased by James D. Hague, and within a year employment will be given to many more, It is also assured that the obstacles which have intervened to prevent the opening of the. Allison Ranch mine have practically been overcome, and it is safe to say that this mine will give employment to a large force of miners, The work of opening up the Bullion mine, under George Mainhart’s management, will be actively pushed, and there are several Projects under consideration which will doubtless result in the development of other Properties, which, altogether, will likely give employment to a hundred or more men, It has also been definitely learned that work will be resumed on the Gold Hill claim, owned by the Omaha Consolidated Co., at no distant date, It will be remembered that the Gold Gill was opened up some time ago, but sufficient power could not be obtained with the present machinery, A contract is now in force, however, which will enable the mine to be running within a year. This will also furnish employment for a large crew of men, Thus it will be seen thatwithin the next year in the neighborhood of one thousand men will be at work in addition to the number now employed, —
