An electric railroad between Nevada . City and Grass Valley has been talked of for’ the past few years, and yet has only been built on paper. Several companies have been formed and each en, countered insurmountable obstacles . and abandoned the project. Now it is, stated that Hon. John F. Kidder, who owns the franchise for an electric raili road between the two towns, has about . completed negotiations whereby the Nevada County Electric Power Com. pany wil] come into posession of the franchise and build the road. The~ ‘Power Company is in a good position . to carry the project forward and it is . believed they will do so. B ae Hat hu . There is lots of work to be done and there is no time to lose, A month's time is short enough for getting up a good celebration, and besides there are some things that need for the Fourth. For instance, if it is desired to have an orator from some other place, an invitation should be sent in season so that if not accepted the committee may look elsewhere and get somebody and in time to allow the speaker to prepare himself. There are other matters that should also be at‘tended to promptly, and the sooner the various committees are chosen now the better will they be able to perform: the duties expected’ of them. ‘We trust ‘the meeting tonight will be spe ate tended, ————— See Louis Dorais’ card: 50-ct. col. tf A Baby's ‘Life Saves. “ME bale had croup and was saved b: oh’s Cure.” writes Mrs. J.
