F. Report: Harmon K. Gage, a white-bearded and patriarchal-leoking man, was brought before Judge Hebbard Wednes‘day on a‘charge of lunacy. He ig an old resident of Truckee, having settled there thirty-three years ago, and was at one time quite wealthy. * He still owns about $10,000 worth of property, but owing to his mental weakness, has not been competent lately to take care of his estate. He was brought before Judge Hebbard at the request of his relatives. They stated that he was afflicted with an hallucination which caused him to think that he had contracted a loathsome ‘disease and communicated it to alarge number people. He lately armed himself with a revolver for protection against the people to whom he had communicated the disease, and was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and sent to the House. of Correction. When he was asked by the Court whether he realized that . he had been acting strangely he replied that he did and was very sorry to trouble his relatives. Everybody wants to be strong. The craze—for it bag well nigh reached that stage—affects both sexes and even childhood. The pugilistic phase of this fad in young America is by no means morally promising. But itis one thing to endowwith vigor and another to, be Sandowed with muscle. Super muscularity is often induced by physical effert perilious to health and calculated to sherten life. The vigor which means a regular and efficient discharge of the physical functions, is the first medium at which all may safely aim ‘without causing ruptures or breaking blood vessels. Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters is largély condutive toa gain in vigor of this sort, since it stimulates and assists digestion, promotes regular bilious secretion and keeps the bowels in order. Sleep, that grand recuperator of nervous vigor, is encouraged by it, and it remedies malarial, rheumatic and kidney trouble. Seal Deafness Cannot be Cured By local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure Deafness, and that is by constitutional remedies. Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining ef the Eustachian Tube. When this tube gete inflamed you havea rumbling souud or imperfect” hearing, and when it is entirely closed Deafness is the result, and unless the inflammation can be taken cut and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearing will be destroyed forever ; nine cases out of ten are caused by catarrh, which is nothing but an inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces. We will. give One Hundred Dollars for any case of Deafness (caused by catarrb) that cannot be cured by Hall’s Catarrh Cure. F. J. CHENEY & CO., Toledo, O. by Druggists, 75c. Fresh Ranch Butter, W. G.
