The sport at. Glenbrook yesterday
afternoon served to attract a large
crowd to the Park, both from this city
and Grass Valley. The bronchoe used
were an unruly lot, and while they:
held out served to keep the assemblage
in good spirits. The crowning event
of the afternoon, however, was the
bull riding. A ball wes procured from
Abel Sandow of Town Ta'k and taken
upon the track, where he was saddled,
and with only a rope around his horns
Professor Gruwell mounted the huge
beast. No sooner was he seated than
the. fup commenced. Snorting, bellowing and fuming with anger, he
dashed around and bucked in true
broncho style, but finding his efforts
were in vain he took it into his head to
sprint around: the track and jt.took.a

Coming: back, and when near ‘the
judge's stand, ‘he made one final effort
to rid bimself of his burden, but failing, turned and made a fiying leap .
over the fence which separates the
track from the field. He was brought
back completely fagged out, and was
then allowed to depart in peace, ‘A
quarter-mile runuing dash wae also a
pleasing feature.
