Woman Hangs Herself Santa Cruz, May 5—Mrs. Alexander Carpenter committed suicide yesterdayby hanging herseif at her residence in East Santa Cruz. She had been ill,and ber husband decided to take her to the Sanitarium at St. Mrs. Osrpenter had been once in an insane asylum at Lincoln, Neb., and twice in Agnews Asylum. Stidger, who formerly lived at Sebastopol and who is associated with his son in the practice of law in San Francisco, is in town for a few days on business. A week ago he returned from Juneau, Alaska, where he went on mining business. He enjoyed the trip to Juneau very much. The climate was delightful and a great deal of business. in being transacted there. Mr. Stidger regards Juneau and the country round about as the coming places.
