J.B. Wilson, 371 Clay St., Sharpsburg,
Pa., says he will not be without Dr. King’s
New Discovery for Consumption, Coughs
and Colds, that it cured his wife-who was
threatened with Pneumonia after an attack
of ‘La Grippe,” when various other remedies
and several physicians had done her no good.
Robert Barber, ef Cooksport, Pa., claims
Dr. King’s New Discevery has done him
more good than anything he ever used for

the different Nevada county people put in
their spare tiine and change.
The first person met with was ‘‘Old Man”
May 18th, roth, 20th and 2tst. Remember that I make a ape
cialty ofthem. The cheapes
to tho most elaborate wfll be
~Blackwell of Moore’s Flat. He thonght the
Ostrich Farm was grand, and succeeded in
inducing quite a number of people to visit
this concession, though none saw anything
about it so attractive as did Blackwell.
Wm. Rowe of Nevada City has probably
had the most varied experience of any of
the Nevada countyans. First of all, the
barbers of San Francisco don’t suit Wm.
Read what an old miner says of our treatment for Rupture:
2 OROVILLE, CL., Fad, 1, 1892.
To whom it may concern :—I wish to state for
the benefit of any ope troubled with rupture
that I have been ruptured fer 30 years Was
so bad that I was unable to tend to my business.
Could not get @ truss that would hold my rupture. I am now a sousp and WELt man. Feel
twenty years younger then I did six months
ago. Iam indebted to Drs. Porterfied & Losey,
of San Francisev, for this happy state of affairs
and I cannot recommend them too highly to
anyone afflicted with any of the troubles of
which they make% specialty.

Ed. Morgan, who is going home Wednes},

worth, living unless he is on the Scenic
Railway.
W.G. Richards and wife were delighted
with the Fair and took in all there was to be
seen,
Mrs. Howard Douglass and Miss Minnie
Brand spent last Monday at the Fair.
Nevada county people are certainly doing
their share in helping the Fair along, and few
have been heard to speak of itin any way
except with words of praise.
Mr.'‘de Yeung, Director-General of the
Fair, is‘to’be congratulated on not having
-. been at his office Monday. An ex-convict
wanted to kill him and was so put out at
not finding him that he got in a row with
the manager of the Chronicle and tried to
kill him. It would have been a sad blow
te the Fair had de Young been injured.
It is to be hoped that this would-be assassin
will be sent across the bay for along time.
In my next i will give you some of the
pet concessions of our Nevada county ladies.

Little Daughter
Of a Church of England minister
cured of a distressing rash, by
Ayer’s Sarsaparilla. Mr. RIcHARD
Brrks, the well-known Druggist, 207
McGill st., Montreal, P. Q., says:
I have sold Ayer’s Family Medicines '
for 40 years, and have heard nothing but
good said of them. I know of many
Wonderful Cures
performed. by Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, one
in particular being that of a little
daughter of a Church of England minister.. The child wus literally covered
from head to foot with a red and exceedingly troublesome rash, from which
she had suffered for two or three years,
in spite of the best medical treatment
available. Her father was in great
distress about the case, and, at my
recommendation, at last began to administer Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, two bottles of which effected a complete cure,
Mich to her relief and her father’s
delight. I am sure, were he here to-day,
he would testify in the strongest terms
as to the metits of $

On a Par With It.
' The Stockton Mail claims that ‘‘the price
of wool has not gone down, but the price cf
gold has gone up.” This ison a par with
the declaration that some time ago appeared.on.the front door of a defunct Texds
bank: ‘‘This bank isn’t broke; the people
are broke. It owes $75,000; the people owe
it $100,000; when they pay, it will pay.”
In both cases, whatever the line of reasoning the facts remain the same.

Where the Money Went.
When the Midway Plaisance people were
leaving Chicago, bankers were kept busy
for quite a while in changing $1,000,000 or
more, which they carried away as the result of a summer’s industry, into the coin
of-other realms. A donkey boy from
Cairo street unrolled a tattered cloth containing $700 in silver, for which he wished
French france, while a camel driver had a
clear $1,000. An Arab, a Turk, a Nubian
soldier and a Persian dancer each had a lit
tle fortune of $1,000 in silver.
