Sratrie, Wash., November 12.—Jobn A. Nink, a prominent insurance man, was shot down from ambush on the street et 1 o’clock this morning. He had just been granted a divorce from his wife, with whom he bad uot lived for ten years. The would-be sssassin lay in wait with a rifle. As Nink passed a dark corner he fired from behind and escaped after a running fight with the police. Nink for the past year has been keeping company with Emma Kirschner, a wealthy widow, uf highly respected family, and it is said they were to be married as soon as Nink should get his divorce, Mrs. Kirechner’s family has been moving heaven and earth to keep Nink from getting a divorce and to prevent the ceuple from marrying. Nink believes he is the victim of a paid assassin. His condition Is critical. Fly Many Miles.
