It is said-that some of the hunters have been killing female deer lately, Ié is unlawful to kill does, and the State Sportsmen’s Club and the Grass Valley club will prosecute any one who is informed on. The protection of does‘and fawns for a number of years past has caused a great increase in the number of deer, and any reasonable person can seé the beuefit’ thereof ‘and will ‘cheerfully observe the law. The present law prohibits any one from selling deer meat, and it is a good provision, too, as it shuts off the pot hunters who have made 4 business of killing them for the market, and inereases the chanées of the sportsman amd ethers to shoot a deer occasionally. ‘Liberty Circle Officers.
