Myers fought so hard that it became necessary to use the nippers on him This morning the prisoner was taken before Justice Holbrook, and pleaded guilty to a charge of petty larceny, ‘whereupon he was sentenced to’ninety days in the county jail. Myers was discharged from jail Saturday forenoon, having been sent up from Grass Valley for disturbing the peace. The invitation social dance} Piven at Silva’s Hall Saturday evening by some of the Gold Flat young men, was a very pleasant affair and was well attended. Music was furnished by Eden brothers. The dance at the Blye Tent schoolhouse, for the benefit of the school, was a complete success, and everybody had a nice time. There was a large attendance, quite a number from town going out. James Neagle, Charles Cleveland and James Young, with their wives, and Ernest Towle and the Misses Kinkead, Ed Morgan and Miss A. Rich, James Hanley, Eb Grissell, and the Misses Groves, started for the dance at Blue Tent, They lost the road, some of the vehicles were upset and all were late in getting to the dance, one couple failing to find the place. The attraction .was the pretty operetta entitled “Triumph of Love,” presented by home talent, under the direction of Mrs. L, Neumayer, ¥[he entertainment was one of the most satisfactory amateur performances ever given in this city, and the large audience was highly pleased with the singing, acting and pretty tableaux with which the piece abounds. ‘All who took part acquitted themselves most ecréditably,, and in some instances did so well that their friends were greatly surprised at the ability displayed. Company has lately been held at their office in San Francisco, says the Colfax Sentinel. From the reports of the officers it was shown that the company had’ paid $30,000 in dividends during the year, and had $24;662.59 cash in the treasury. The following trustees were elected for the ensuin year: Flex Chappellet, Chas. Mayne, H. Bendel, F. H. Green, and G. W. Zaile. Mr. Chappellet re-elected president and manager, Mr. D. M.
