Superior Court.
Mrs. Sarah Dunnicliff, who was last
August committed to the Napa Asylum
for the Insane, and who was discharged
from the Asylum on the 10th of this
month as “improved,” appeared in the
Superior Court this morning and asked
to be legally declared competent. Evidence of one witness besides Mrs.
Dunniciiff was taken as to her condition, and the applicant was given the
privilege of offering additional testimony. The evidence today was not in
his honor’s opinion conclusive that the
petitioner’s reason was fully restored.
There was no opposition to her application.

Death of a Well-known Young Man From
Gold ‘Hill,
The funeral’ of Thomas Andrew Phelan of Gold Hill, Nevada, who died
yesterday at North San Juan of consamption, will take place at the latter
place at 11 o’clock tomorrow forenoon.
Mr. Phelan was twenty years of age
and was a bright, ambitious man: of
great. popularity. He came to North
San Juan about two months ago, hoping that the change of climate would
benefit his health. _Mrs. Daly of that
place is his aunt, and she with’ his
mother and one of his sisters who were
with him gave the young man the: best
of care during his last illness. . His

Dr. Holdsworth went to San Francisco today to stir up the’ company

English Mountain mine above Graniteville. They were to have had the mill

has the contract for putting it up has
