The ‘Canfield is the most extensive drift mine in the district. Twelve men are employed in the tunnel and work is being pusbed ahead as rapidly as possible. It-has beeu run in a distance of 700 feet and it is estimated that 300 more will have to be run before the channel is tapped. Drifting is being done with the aid of Burleigh dtills, and if the company’s hopes are realized the Canfield will be one of the dividend paying properties of the Biue Tent district, which in the palmy days of bydraulic mining produced its millions.
