CUNY TRUSTRES MBETING A Superintendent of Construction Appointed—Bills Allowed. — The regular monthly meeting of the Board of City Trustees was held last night, all the members being present, Marshal Getchell and Treasurer Clutter submitted their reports, which were read and approved and ordered placed on file, Petitions were received from James Will» and George Allen, asking permission to open saloons, The Clerk was “instructed to issue licenses to them, The Marshal was instructed to enforce *the ordinance.prohibiting the keeping open of saloons after midnight, aud to. refuse’ to issue a new license to any one convicted cf violating the ordinance, City Attorney Mason appeared before the Board and stated his fee for prosecuting the cases against peddlers, on appeal before the Superior Court, ‘The matter was discussed at length and was finally settled to the satisfaction of all, Propositions to draw up specifications for contracts and superintend the work of conatruction of the new city water works were received from W. W. Waggoner and F. M, Miller, The former offered to furnish specifications and to superintend the work for . . $150 per month, ‘The latter offered to furnish specitications for $100 and superinteneé the work for $125 per mouth. Mr, Miller’s bid was accepted and he was appointed Superintendent of Construction. The Marshal was: instructed the property owners on Nevada street to repair the street.
