MURDER AT DAVISVILLE.
County, the Assassin.
Charles Dodge, who was born and raised
at Forest Springs in this county, shot and
killed H. M. Eaton at Davisville Tuesday
night. Eaton was about twenty-five years
old and was employed as night telegraph
operator by the Southern Pacitic Company.
Dodge, armed with a revolver, waited outside the depot for Eaton to appear. As the
latter came out the door Dodge arose and
shot him in the abdomen, the bullet ranging
upward, After being shot Eaton ran about.
100 feet, and then fell. He was carried’
into the Lillard House-and Dr, Bates sent
for, but before he arrived Eaton was dead.
He never spoke after the shot was fired.,..
wonian, a sister of Dodge, who was divorced
from her husband and came to Davisville
from the Kast a short time ago, to reside
with her brother. She soon formed an attachnient for Eaton and. it is said their
relations were quite intimate. The woman
is known in Davisville as Miss Dodge. She
has been sick in bed six wecks and at one
time it was thought she cewld not live.
