To Cure a Cold in One Day “Come home. It’s nothing more than T’ve known for ten years.” And bome he came as quickly as he left, the happiest. man in California. fle was henceforth a model of moral rectitude, and not only that, but he soon after joined the church and is to this day a pillar of it. There was one woman who knew how to handle her husband. WAS HERE IN THE 70'S. He Still Takes a Lively Interest in This Section. Old-time residents will remember O. §. Cressy who was a hydraulic miner at Blue Tent and left here in the early 70’s. He is now‘in the piano business at 107 Westminister street, Providence, R.I.,and George Cooper the lumberman paid him a visit: while back there a few weeks ago. Mr. Cressy has just written a letter to Harvey Cooper of this city, telling what a grand time the two old friends had talking over the things that happened around here over a quarter of a century ago. In this letter the writer says those were some of the happiest days of his life. He is still an owner in.mining properties in Tuolumne and Shasta counties, and wants to know all about the mines around Nevada City. “Business generally is improving all through this country,” he adds, “but I can’t say much for the climate. The frosts began cutting down vegetation about the 10th of October, and we have bid adieu to the summer and fall of 1897. Some days this fall the thermometer would get up to 88 degrees, and then inside a week drop to 34.” ML pe age Was Almost There. Mrs. J. A. Craig of Columbia Hill recently received a letter from her brother, Will Smith, who left Gem, Idaho, some time ago for Alaska. When Mr. Smith wrote he was within twenty miles of Dawson and expected to reach the end of his journey without difficulty. For Ladies Only. Shadow of Herself Stomach Was Too Weak to Retain Food A Complete Cure Effected by Hood’s Sarsaparilla Now Enjoying the Best of Health, With Digestion Perfect. “My mother was subject to sick headaches and indigestion for over a yéar. She was unable to stand for any length of time, and was obliged to stay in a dark room as she could not bear the light. She had noappetite whatever and herstomach was so weak she could not retain .what food she did eat. She also had severe pains in her head. She suffered so much that she became but the shadow-of hérself. One day I happened to read a testimonial about Hood’s Sarsaparilla. It Sounded So Truthful I persuaded her to try this medicine. Before finishing the first bottle there was an improvement in her condition. She no longer threw up her food and her headache was not as severe. She took in all four bottles of Hood’s Sarsaparilla and several boxes.of Hood’s Pills and regained her weight. She is now enjoying the best of health. Her digestion is good and she can eat almost anything she wishes. She is 42 years old and says she feels as well -as when she was 16. Hood’s Sarsaparilla . . made a complete cure in her case.” Miss Mary MasoaRim, Ironton, Ohio. Hood's Sarsaparilla Is the best+in fact the One True Blood Purifier.
