EATON’S DEATH, ——— The Remains ‘of Her Husband to Be Removed to San Francisco, A private letter received in this city from San Francisco states that the death of Mrs, Ira Eaton, which occurred there a few days ago, was somewhat unexpected. She or three days, and then became; much better, seeming to be in a fair way to recover. The next morning, however, she quietly passed away. The immediate cause of death was paralysis of some of the vital organs, Mrs, Eaton had expressed a desire that the’remains of her husband, the late Ira A. Eaton, who was buried in this city, should be removed to San Francisco and laid alongside of her in Cypress Lawn Cemetery, and arrangements are now being made to have her wishes carried out. —_—_—-—-c--@eFIRE AT ORMONDE. The Hotel at That Place Totally Deo'clock, the hotel at Orui@nde, Washington township, caught fire and was soon totally dvstroyed, togather with nearly all its contents, The building belonged to the Washingten Mining Company, and at the time was occupied by Mrs. Carey and family. She lost all her effects, with the exception of a few trinkets and a small quantity of flour. She was all alone when the tire was first discovered, It caught in the roof, from the din~ ing room stovepipe. There was no insurance as far as we oa learn, CONGRESS ADJOURNS. The Extra Session Came to a Close This Afternoon, Sacramento, Nov. 3d,—A special to the Bee from Washington says that the Senate sober and industrious, DESTROYED BY FLAMES. The. Residence of John McCarthy and All Its Contents. Unien: About 9:30 o'clock last night an alarm of fire was sounded and te the south of town were seen wild flames leaping high into the air, Many people hastened to the property and its. contents proved futile. 1t was by the merest chance that the residetice of Mrs. Dinan on the west was saved. Sev. eral times the flames reached the old lady's building, but it was saved by a bucket brigade, Mr. McCarty: and family were visiting at their neighbor's, Thos. Trenberth’s, and the first they knew of the fire was by the ories of the neighbors, originated from a defective flue or else by the tipping over of a lamp which was: left burning en the kitchen table.
