Being Shipped to Europe by ° Every Steamer. . Five million dollars in gold were shipped to Europe last week. This large shipment at a season when gold ought, in the ordivary course of trade, to be coming this way cannot be attributed to an adverse balance of trade. The financial disturbances in Europe create a demand for gold and American securities are thrown upon the market. The fact that American indebtness in Europe is equal, or about equal, to the entire store of gold money in the world, should shake the faith of gold monometallists in the assumption that there is gold enoigh in the world to do the world’s business, A probable result of this shipment will be a fresh issue of bonds, The. United States will -make anvther bid for European gold. We had to pay a pretty high price for gold in February, but the condition of the’European. gold market warrants a higher price now. In fact, gold is the only thing in the world that is steadily rising in value. Its nominal price remains the same, but the rise makes the same, but the rise makes itself felt in the fall of other products. Debts are payable in dollars, or whatever may be the unit of value in. the several counties. When Administrator’s Sale. Among the business blocks and residences for sale will be the Lones Building, corner Pine and Commercial street, the grocery storg on Convmercial street, also a saloon, three residence on Bréad ‘streets, several residences on West Broad and Spring Streets, etc. Also the Wells dairy ranch.
