Sheriff Getchell left today for the home for feeble-minded children at Eldridge, Sonoma county, taking with him a sixteen year-old lad afflicted with epilepsy who has been committed to that institution by Judge Nilon. _ Isoard’s Steamship Agency. Max H. Isoard of thiscity is the local agent for the North German Lloyd Steamship Company and sells tickets for all parts of the world. This isthe company owning the “Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse,” the largest and-—fastest steamship inthe world. It is 649 feet in length and has made as much as 580 knots in a single day’srun. Nov. 30.—Another consignment of negroes to take the places of the striking white coal miners arrived last night. Soldiers met them at the station and disarmed them before permitting them to march to the mine barracks. The grand jury has failed to indict the white miners who held up a train on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad and shipped the negroes who were aboard back to their starting place.
