As near as can be figured from the returns obtained from all but one precinct in the county, the Democratic nominees for Sheriff, Clerk, Assessor, District Attorney and Public Administrator have been elected. The Republicans elect the: Treasurer, Recorder and ‘Surveyor, Greany defeats Calkins for Clerk by about twenty votes. For 28th; Coughlan, District Attorney Riley is about forty votes ' head of Power. The vote for Public Administratur is also quite close. The exact figures cannot be obtained until the Board ef Supervisors: meet on Monday next and begin the official canvass 6f the vote. oo. Quartz Mining Near San Juan. ——— The Banded Treasure mine, situated’ on the Middle Yuba river, a few miles from North San Juan, is looking very fine just now. A three-foot Huntiugton mill has just been put’up there and will be set to work tomorrow. The ledge is quite large and the quartz assays $50 a ton. Being of a decomposed nature it — is easily and. quickly crushed by a rotary mill such as “has been put up. The owners feel very jubilant over their prospects.
