Proposed Timber and Fuel Trust, A timber and fuel trust is now talked of by’Truckee lambermen and amarked increase in the price of those natural products will follow. The scarcity of timber on the western slope of the Sierras, which has been Stripped by Nevada companies, has caused. them to send their, agents west of Truckee ‘to spy out new forest land,and to checkmate this movement by obtaining control of all of the timber reserves-on the eastern and western. slopes, of the Sierras, is one of the objects of the proposed trust, the promoters of the project having already secured the magnificent sugar pine forests in Mohawk Valley, Plumas couaty.
