HE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
T of Nevada does ordain as follows:
SzcrTron i—Every person, whether as owner, manager or lessee, engaged in the busi:
ners of conducting or keeping any deyice
commonly known as a “nickel-in the-slot”
machine, or any imitation the. eof, which
machiue is open to the public, and “played”
inany manner. aa a game of chance must
procure a license from the Ci‘y Marsh‘! of
the said City of Neva’a, and shall pay there‘for the sum of Tes ;
for each of said machines, so in his possession or und«r his control; and any person
who has any. such machin? in his place of
business shall be deemed the manager thereof. Thissection applies to all machines of
this character without regex’ to the kind of
eoin, check or other substance or article
drop in the slot of said machine, and
whether said machine is played for cigars,
iquors, merchandise or other article.
SECTION 2—The City Marshal shall have the
collection of the license provided for by ths
ordinance, and it is hereby made his bala . to
collect the same, and if any perecs required
to take out a license under the provisions of
this ordinance fails, refuses or negl cts to
take out such license, the City Marshal shall
direct the No Attofney to bring suit in the
name of the City of Nevada against such person for the recovery of such license, and in
such case the City Marshal may make the
necessary affidavit for, and a writ of attachment may issue, without any bond being
given on behalf of the plaintiff, «nd in case
of recovery by the plaintiff, Twenty-: ive
Dollars damages must be sdded to the judgmen’ and costs to be collected from the defendant. :
SECTION oF oes! person shall be entitled to
ay and receive license for one qua!ter, but
or noshorter period. The license to be collected under this ordinance shall become
due and payable in advance.
SEcTION 4This ordinance shall take effect
