Miners Will Meet.
The annual meeting of the Nevada.
County Miners Association will be
held in this city on Saturday, the 27th
inst., in the City Hall. Officers for
the ensuing year will be elected and

Fled With a Woman.
Sacramento, October 19.—Justice W.
A. Anderson issued a warrant today
for the arrest of David Witt, who yesterday was employed as night bartender in the Hoffman saloon, at Seventh and J Streets. Witt is accused of
having taken $100 out of the saloon safe,

good talker, has, it is also alleged, bortowed various sums of money from

Death of a Pioneer.
San Feanowco, Octeber 19.—Louis

Killed at Colfax.
The Transoript of yesterday had
a brief dispatch of the killing of a man
at Colfax by a Soutbern Pacific train.
The deceased’s name was Edward Gray,
ahd he was engaged inthe wood business, hauling to Grass Valley and Oolf-x. He was deaf.and undoubtedly
did not hear the approach of the train,

acres this side of Colfax. He leaves

Waymansville, fifteen miles south of
here, Dr. Conda Beck, late yesterday . afternoon shot and killed Wm. Barton
because Barton objected to Beck keeping company with his daughter. Two
years ago Beck killed Miss Grace Cohe,
