Section 1. All property in the Sta

bonds, stocks, dues, franchises, and all

trust deeds, property used exclusively
for public schools, and such as may belong to the United States, this State
or to any county or municipal corporation within this State, shall be exempt from taxation. The Legislature

credits. of debts ‘due bona fide residents of this State.

Section 3. ‘The liability of stockh®lders of corporations. or: joint-steck associations shali be limited by the face
value of the shares of’ the subscribed capital stock or shares of such
corporation or association; and whenever any shares have been fully paid
up, the holders of such shares shall
not be further liable to such oration or association, or the creditors
thereof, on that account. Each: stockholder of a corporation or joint-stock
association , whose capital stock is not
fully paid up, shall be individually and
personally liable for such proportion
fofall its debts. and liabilities contracted or incurred during “the time
he was a stockholder or. shareholder,
as the amount.unpaid upon the stock
or shares-owned-by him bears to the
whole amount unpaid upon the subscribed capital stock or shares of: the
corporation or association. .The Directors or Trustees of corporations and
joint-stogk associations shall be jointly
and severally liable to the creditors
and stockholders: for all. morieys embezzled or misappropriated by the officers of such corporation or joint stock
association, during the term of office

Section 6. Corporations for municipal purposes shall not be created by
special laws; but. the Legislature, by
general laws, shall provide for the incorporation, organization, and classification,, in. proportion to population
of cities and towns, which laws may be
altered, amended, or repealed. . Cities
and towns heretofore organized or incorporated may become organized under such general laws whenever a majority of the electors voting at a general election shall so determine, and
shall organize in conformity there-;
with; and cities and towns heretofore
or hereafter organized,-and all charters thereof framed or adopted>by authority ofthis Constitution, except in
municipal affairs, shall be. subject to
and-controlied by general laws. :
