One to be Taken of the
Various Charehes of
Nevada City.
Last night at a meeting of the Board
of the Nevada City M. E, Sunday
Schoo! it was decided to take a religfous census of Nevada Oity. It was
voted to invite all the churches in this
sity—the Roman Oatholio as well as
Protestant—to share in the work and
ite benefits. Similar canvasses have
been made in numbers of the sities in
the United States and have been invariably productive of good.
The plan will be for all from the
oburches who will volunteer as canvaesers to enroll their names as avallable for from one hour’s work to ten,
as they may be able. Each canvasser
will have a stub book with bianke in
which to note the following queries
propounded: The number in the fam\ily? Number ander 18 years of age?
How many attend Sundey school?
What school? How many are members of the charch? What church fs
preferred?
No effort will be made to proselyte,
But every one will be cordially invited
to attend the charch of their choice
and to see to it thet their children are
placed in the Sunday school they prefer, San Francisco, Philadelphia and
numbers of smaller cities have been
thus canvassed in e single day, with
moat excellent resulte. There is no
doubt bat that there is enough religion
and public spirit to do the same thing
thie censue will be taken sometime
during November.

By local applicationsas they cannot

There is cnly one way to cure deafness, and that is by constitutional
