A resolution was unanimously adopted endorsing Fred Zeitler for President of the State Association, Mr, Zeitler being the present Vice-President. ‘There is no reason why Nevada county should not be represented at the head of the association as it produces more bullion and pays more money to the Association than any other county. A better choice conld not possibly be made for he would make ® strong presiding officer, adding much influence to the State organization. The delegates from this county will go down shouting for him and Nevada county should win the Presidency. The following were appointed a committee to wait upon the Board of Supervisors ‘and solicit a donation of public fands to the county association: F. Zeitlér, Geo. Fletcher, Geo. W Starr, John T. Very Successful. Reports received from County are to the effect that Sam D. Woods, Repabdistrict has been making a most brilliant campaign there. The Republicans of old Placer declare that they will carry the timate is not based upon the enthusiasm which is so apparent in the Republican ranks, but upon a careful canvase of the voters. Many precincts have been tina ia this way, and in every instance distinct Republican gains have been shown. One precinct which four years ago gave Bryan a majority of one will this year give McKialey a majority of twenty-eight. A precinct which four years ago gave McKinley a majority of three will this year increase it to eighteen.
