Thursday evening’s Marysville Democrat says: At the present time there are three propositions being con sidered looking. to the establishment of electric light and power plants, the water power for each of them to.be taken from the Yuba river. A company. has been incorporated composed of Sacrament capitalists; of which number District Attorney Frank D. Ryan is one. These men_have secured a water right, the location of which is only ten miles east of this city. Asecond company, com posed principally of residents of this city Sand county, havea franchise or water right at the narrows near to ‘Smartsville, about eighteen miles east sof Marysville. ~ The third proposition on ‘this line is "tthe Browns Valley irrigation ditch which takes water from the Yuba wiver about forty miles from this city. The last mentioned is said to have been secured by John Martin, R. R. Colgate and their associates, and this inc, “des the franchise granted last winter by the Supervisors and City Couneil: Of the thr? propositions the two first are by far 1 "e. most feasible and advantageous, as v."wed by practical men of experience. ae third proposition is the most difficulf #84 expensive to constract-and operate; Owing to repairs to maintain the ditolf 20d 9 large reservoir. But it can be _ tated as a fact that within one year one ® the two first named: companies will havé established a good plant, at the same time the Brown Valley scheme may also materialize. Persons who enter into contracts at this time to consider the fact that if one company can reduce the price one-third, a second one may reduce it one-half.
