Superintendent Fred Zeitler, who was married a few days ago at San Francisco, did not, ‘in his supreme happinegs, forget the employes at the Champion mine, and sent word to havea lot of champagne and cigera taken to the mine to treat all hands, To aay that the kind remembrance was duly appreciated hardly expresses it, and -if Mr, Zeitlef’amd wife could have heard thé many good wishes that the sturdy miners and MAKING G00D PROGRESS, ee The Electric Power Company Horrying all Work Forward.Work is being rashed, ahead as fast as ‘possible by the Nevada County Electric Power Company, and the managers feel confident that the works will be in practical operation~by the middle of October. The flume builders gre making good progress with their work. In this respect he has been one of the best men for our town that has ever had charge of a mine here. Aside from this he is a public spirited man and always aids any movement calculated to advance the best interests of the community. Our people are glad to have such men among them, and all speak very highly of the worth and genial character of Mr, Zeitler, and hope that under his efficient management the Champion Company’s mining property may long continue to give forth golden treasures to its ener-~ (Retic, plucky stockholders, Mr. and Mrs, Zeitler will shortly arrive ‘from San Francisco and go to housekeeping @t the Johnson residence, on Pine street, which is now being placed in readiness for them. R. McMurray Was the Purchaser. * Last week the I'ranscarpr announced that the Tip Top gravel mine, adjoining the . West Harmony, had been bargained for and that the transfer of the property would ‘be made in a, few days. Hon, R, MéMurray, the prominent mining man, is the purchaser and intends to begin operations ‘in a short time, Finger Amputated. This morning while Frank Lammon, a miner at the Providence mine, was drilling a hole he accidentally struck the little finger of his left hand with the hammer, . Mrs. Tautphaus, wife of Peter Tautphaus of San Francisco, died there Friday sight, Deceased was forty-seven years.of age and was married about a year ago, being Mr, Tautphaus’ second wife, The bereaved husband is one of the largest owners in the Providence mine of this place, Salvation For All.
