N. P. BROWN, L. 8. CALKING.
A GREAT VICTORY AHEAD.
f Nevad ty oe
The Republicans of Nevada county Rev. Wm. C. Gray Goes to
have every reason to congratulate themselves on the political outlook. Their
ticket from top to bottom is one calculated to inspire them to the. most enthasiastic and determined efforts. The
8 ate ticket is the strongest they have
put forward in years, meeting. as it
does with their unanimous approval,
and many 4 Democrat will be pleased
to cast his ‘ballot for Neff, Ford and)
McFarland for old friendship’s sake.
Frank Ryan will have the solid backing of his party as Congressman. The
county ticket does not present a weak
spot. It is fairly apportioned to the
various parts of the county, was honestly nominated, and every man upon it
is worthy the confidence of his party
and of the people. Perfect harmony
prevails in the ranks. There are no
sore-heads to placate, no knife-wielders
to watch, But the Republicans of the
county should not make the mistake of
sleeping on their arms. -They should
continue alert and industrious. They
have a keen aad experienced foe to dea)
with. For years the Democracy has
fought an up-hill fight. Yet time and
again it has snatched victory from the
jaws ofdefeat, because of the overconfidence of the Republican party. It
is as cunning aiid persistent a foe this
year as in the years gone by, but if the
Republicans have learned well the lessons of the past they will find when
the vote is counted on the eighth
day of next November that they have
relegated it to the private walks of life
for some time.to come.
