Equinoxial storms are expected every year about the latter part of September, but this year itis here exactly on time, to-day being the turning point when the days begin to grow shorter in length from sunrise tosunset. The rain is timely and is welcomed by all, and it is hoped enough will fail to thoroughly iay the dust and extinguish all the forest fires. An Interesting Report. The Epworth League held its regular monthly meeting last night and Miss Rachel Morgan, who was a delegate from the local League to the International Convention, submitted @ very interesting report. The achievements of the convention were rehearsed and mention made of all incidents which tended to advance the good work of the society. The local League is in a thriving condition and four new mames were added to the roll last night. The Nationa! Hotel. The National Hotel of this city enjoys an excellent reputation with the general public. The place is especially popular with mining men, commerGial travelers and tourists. Every thing in connection with the manage— ment of the house is run on modern lines. The dining-room is one of the main features of this popular house.
