THE ROYAL -WHIST CLUB.
The Holding: of Meetings Will Be Resumed: Again Next Week. °
‘After a rest of several weeks the
members of the Royal Whist Club of
this city will meet next Thursdayevening and resume the playing of the
favorite and most popular of all card
games for the fall and winter seasons.
On'the date above mentioned the memmers of the club will be entertained
by Mr. and Mrs. James F. Colley at
their beautiful home at the foot of Nevada street.
The club has been in existence for
the past two years and it is one of the
most popular organizations of the kind
that has ever been perfected in this
city. Its members comprise the
younger element of the city’s married
population and the meetings ofthe same
are always lodked forward to as being
a source’ of rare and: unexcelled. en‘joyment. Since the club’s inception
-changes in its membership have been
few and at each semi-monthly meeting
the one idea seems to be to let pleasure
be unconfived. It has been customary
to hold the gatherings of,the club con4inuously until the warm weather be-:
comes intolerable indoors and then
defer the holding of them until the
heated period has passed.
