The exchange is situated on Main street, opposite the Hotel Antlers. Seene of Animation According to-an exchange the Paddy Campbell or Blue Point mine at Smartsville will soon present a scene of life and mining activity. Mr, Hill of Los Angeles, who represents Eastern capitalists, was in Smartsville a day or two last week and spent a considerable portion of the time in and about the above named mining claim. It is said that the purpose of Mr. Hill’s visit is to formulate plans, make estimates, etc. A change of program has been made necessary on account of the refusal of the Anti-Debris Association to grant a permit to remove by the sluice process the waste material in the bed of the claim. The mine will be operated by machinery consisting of crushers, arastras, elevators and perhaps one or more dredgers. Before mining of any magnitude can be accomplished several miles of new flames and many miles of ditch repairing will be necessary, so that before the mine is put iuto working shape an output of many thousands of dollars will be required.
