What a power the singing school was in the days of old

There are millions of American citizens who do not know all of any one song that was
ever-sung, and yet who could sing if they knew how.
What if the Nevada City churches, more than they do,
were to undertake to form singing classes for young people,

Societies for those that were able to go into them, not alone
that young persons might learn to sing, but also that they
might become acquainted, and that they might be brought
within the range of the power of personal influence for their

of such organizations would result in to the community life ?
Such societies need not be made wholly free. The in-.

an organizing central force, and it would seem that this the
churches, notwithstanding their manifold activities, might
easily supply.
