In Lovely Rites
Miss Joyce Elizabeth Arbogast,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .Kenneth’ Arbogast became the bride
of Martin. Bauman ‘at 3 o’clock
Sunday afternoon, July 31. Rev.
Father’: William’ Daly officiated
at the nuptial: ‘rites’ held-in St.
Canice Catholic church. The. altar’ was beautifull decorated with.
masses of’ white’ gladioli and
white wax candles. ~~‘Mrs. Elise De Mattai, at the
organ, rendered appropriate selections preceding and during the
ceremony. ;
The bride was a picture of
youthful lovéliness as she came
down the aisle on the arm of her
father. Her gown was of frosted
organdie with full, round train.
The long fitted bodice was fash.
ioned with a round neck and the .
square yoke of net was accented .
by’ ‘a dainty ruffle. The sleeves .
were long and pointed. Her finger tip veil was’ fastened to a,
coronet. of orange blossoms and
seed. pearls. As her gnly ornament she wore a gold cross and
chain, the gift of the groom. She
carried a shower bouquet of .
white ‘carnations and bouvardia
centered by baby white orchids. '

enjoyed the beauty of the outdoor living room and the flower
filled grounds.
Amid a shower of rice the
young couple left for a motor
trip via the Redwood highway
for points in Oregon and Washington. The bride’s going-away
suit was of canary yellow sharkskin with green hat and accessories. She wore a corsage of
baby orchids.
The bride was graduated from
Nevada City high school, class
of 1946 and Placer Union college.
She has been attending Chico
State college.
Bauman is the son of Mrs. M.
Bauman of Chico afd the late
Martin Bauman, Sr. He was
graduated from Vallejo high
school, and served. over two
years in the U.S. army in World
War II.
They will make their home in
Chico for the coming year where
