VETERANS ELIGIBLE
TO CONSTRUCT HOMES
UNDER NEW STATE LAW
Veterans in Nevada county
who were born in or entered wartime service from California may
be eligible for state construction
loans to build their own homes a
few months from now, according .
to Coral Morton, county service
officer.
Legislation recently signed by
Governor Earl Warren authorizes
the state department of veterans
affairs to make such loans to eligible veterans. Previously, the
state was able to finance only
completed homes.
The law does not go into effect
until Oct. 1, Mrs. Morton said.
Meanwhile she suggested interested veterans await issuance of
regulations concerning the construction loan program now being .
drafted by the department of veterans affairs.
Information about all types of
state and federal veterans’ benefits is available at Nevada county
service office, 310 West Main
Grass Valley.
