In Northern and Central California this unseasonable demand for electricity now approximates 200,000 horsepower and comes at a time when under normal conditions our system load would,be decreasing. The situation in the valleys would, of course, be relieved by heavy rain. Until such relief comes we must ask our customers to curtail their use of electricity in every possible way. Our customers can be assured that we have done and will continue to do everything possible to meet the problems brought about by the record drought.
