Bush and I. C. Bell were appointed to make detailed investigations and report on their findings.

SEEKS INCLUSION
IN HENNESSY
GRASS VALLEY: A petition
-requesting admission of the children of the Sunset area to the
J. S. Hennessy Elementary School
through the 1948-49 school year
was approved by the Grass Valley school board at its regular
meeting Tuesday night.
The request submitted DY gy a

of 40 was based on “(1) the Rough
and Ready system is unable to
care for our children and (2)
beginning July 1948 we propose
to petition the county Board of
Supervisors to annex the above
mentioned area to Grass Valley”.

will be night classes in radio
training in the use of Forest Service emergency sets. This is offer-ed aS a special division of adult

in the fundamentals there is to
be sight hours work devoted to
practical use of Forest Service
radio in time of fire.
The classes, taught by George
Crawford, radio technician and
communications officer of the
Tahde National Forest, will start
at the high school Monday night,
until the course is complete. Anyone who can qualify as an emergency operator -will be issued
a certificate by the forest service.

PERILS G&H DRUGS
NEVADA CITY: A driverless
runaway Studebaker truck narrowly missed the show windows
of the G&H Pharmacy at. the
corner of Pine and Commercial
Streets Tuesday afternoon when
it cut loose from its parking up
the street. The truck, just off
the sales floor and driven less
than a thousand: miles, broke
speed against the building wall,
then shot across the street to
come to a stand still against a
light pole. Both fenders, a head
light and grill work were mashed.
The machine belonged to Joseph
Day, Jr. partner in a local insurance firm. :
