While it appeats many trees are available along regular routes of travel, in most instances these trees are either protected by state law as a part of the scenie roadside, or are trees growing on private land which are not obtainable by the general public. Trees which supply the commercial market now come from the more inaccessible portions of the forest. Many operators sled their trees or mule-pack them for miles to reach outlet roads. It is regretted this action is necessary, stated Ellis, for we fully appreciate the desire of many individuals to cut their own trees. However, the demand is so heavy that free use of trees must be denied to residents of Nevada City, Grass Valley, Auburn, Reno, the Sacramento valley and the bay area. Bonafide settlers in ‘isolated areas inside the forest will ‘not be affected by these restrictions, Ellis concluded. 220 BROAD STREET HI, GIRLS © ‘HIGH SCHOOL COLORS IN WHITE SADDLE OXFORDS at the The Bootery .
