In the 1947 Session Senator Jesse Mayo and . introduced legislation allocating
to the State division of water resources the sum of $250,000 for the purpose of making
surveys in the mountain counties to determine the water needs of the area.
This survey has been iin progress for several months and when completed will

To the voters of Nevada County and the entire district I am deeply grateful
for their confidence and support in my past two campaigns. .
The short term to which you elected me will expire next January 1st: and . am
now seeking a full four year term as your Senator.
‘In campaigning for reelection . am running on my record of ten years of service
in the State Legislature, nine of which were served in the Assembly. . am now completing my first year in the Senate.
No man .can_do much in the Senate in one year. However, my previous service
in your behalf in the lower house, . beiieve, qualifies me for the four-year term . now
seek.
During my .ten years of service in the Legislature . have always endeavored
to serve each county which . represented just as if . were a resident of that county.
This . shall continue. to do as long as . have the honor to represent you.
Should . again be elected to serve you, . believe that with;a four-year term,
1 can successfully complete much of the work which yet remains to’ be done in behalf
of the district. . am already established in the legislature, have a thorough knowledge
of the procedure and have the friendship of the men and women who make up your
State Legislature, which is so necessary to the success of a legislator.
Because of my experience in the Assembly, . was given appointments to several
Senate committees upon my election last October. The committees include education,
public health, local government, fish and game, and natural resources, all of which
are committees of importance to the counties of the 7th District. In addition to the
above . was recently appointed a member of the interim committee. on community
