1. The original ordinance as passed on 12 August 1968 (7 pages plus map).
2. Typescript report by William B. Wetherall, titled "The story of the Nevada City historical ordinance", signed 30 September 1996 (13 pages).
3. 2 August 1885 article in The Union by Tom Nadea, on the endorsement by California State Historical Resources Commission of Nevada City's application for inclusion of downtown Nevada City in the National Historical Register.
Wetherall's report, requested by the Nevada County Historical Society, was first published in the January 1997 issue of Nevada County Historical Society Bulletin, Volume 51, Volume 1, pages 2-5 (this website).
