‘Shaft number two, or the circular
she.t at the Idaho-Maryland mine,
is being equipped with a skip and
other equipment and will be com-.
pleted in about 10 days. Work is .
progressing splendidly at the For-.
bestown properties taken over in the
last two years. It is reported construction of a 400 ton daily capacity Marcie mill will be started soon}
to handle the gold bearing’ gravel.
The Idaho-Maryland company has
taken over several new properties. in
recent weeks, enlarging their holdings to several hundred acres. An
extensive development program is
peing earried out on the group testing gravel deposits for gold content. Mr. Errol MacBoyle is general
manager of all the properties.

The new shaft at the Murchie
mine is down 2050 feet which is 450
feet below the level of the old workings. The new shaft. lacks several
hundred feet of holing through to
the surface near the mili. It is understood this will not be completed
for a time as ore is being mined at
different levels in the mine. Mr.
George Kervin is superintendent.

Company.

suit between the North Star-Empire
and Bullion property has not been
settled. The new Alaska shaft on
property under option to the Bullion
is down 500 feet and a station is
being cut. A dry house and several
other buildings are to be built at the
new Alaska shaft. The property is
two miles south of Grass’ Valley.
PENNSYLVANIA MINE
The Pennsylvania mine in Browns
Valley which had the shaft flooded
during a recent storm, has been unwatered and development work
shows a strong vein of quite satisfactory ore. Mr. E. R. Bennett, former
superintendent of the Zeibright, was
transferred to the property about
two weeks ago.
MARKS MINE

of five has drifted 200 feet on the
