EASTER
From the Rector of Trinity
Episcopal Church
Qn Friday we celtbrate the trageiy of the Crucifixion. It is the
world’s greatest tragedy. To think
that God should be made manifest
in the flesh; that men should see Him
mi not recognize Him; that they
should actually put Him to death;
there could scarcely be a greater
‘ingedy than this. It is therefore only
miural that the Christian should
gt apart Good Friday as a day of
srrow. No one can read the story
of the Cross unmoved.
But let us remember that the first
Quistians, in proclaiming their
mesage-to the world, put in the
forefront the fact of the Resurrectin. Christ is Risen!
This Easter sermons on the Resurvation will be preached in every
durch in the land. There is no
need for me to attempt a sermon in
this message. I want, instead, just to give a message of cheer to many
who need it notw.

But the fact that is at the root of
the Christian faith is the Resurrection. Christ rose from the dead.
The Resurrection is the greatest
fact in all life. It is the greatest fact
in nature; that tWowever hard the
ground, however cold the earth,
spring will break forth,, and life
will force its crazy way out of the
tomb.
We are in the midst of troubles
and defeats. It sometimes seems that
all we have ever fowght for is slipping away. Death stares us in the
face. We have not had time to forget the misery of World Wars, but

the Life.’’ I believe in the ultimate
‘triumph of good over evil. I believe
that God. is stronger than all the
evil forces that are arayed against
Him. .
In our individual lives let us believe in the triumph of good. Do not
despair. ‘“‘He has overcome the
world.” Let us, this Eastertide, take
heart because of the fact of the
Resurrection. How beautiful it is to
see on every hedge and * tree, the
signs of life returning to the earth.

Get out into the open and see God
at work in nature. Leave the crowded streets and the noisy highways.
Go where the flowers hide their
modest heads. Watch the leaves unfolding on the branch of the tree.
Look at the birds building their
nests, listen to their song.

MINIMUM OPERATING COST
To keep the operating costs of
your electric water heater at a minimum the insulation should be of a
non-flammable material -which is
thick enough to resist sagging from
the top. And there should be a cold
water baffle, a metal deflector which
prevents mixing of cold with hot
water.
CORD CARE
The cord
with the home wiring system .is
quite. fiexible, but should be given
proper care. Don’t run the cords under rugs or table legs or tack them
to the wall, because> it might split
the protective insulation. And don‘t
paint the cords. This is bad for rubbér, causing it to crack.
